Online Order/Dealer Transfer

LFI acts solely as the transferring Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) agent for firearms or NFA items purchased from third-party/online dealers. Therefore, LFI is not responsible for the condition, functionality, accuracy of description, missing accessories or paperwork, defects, shipping damage and/or delays, or warranty issues related to any firearms, NFA items, or parts purchased from third-party/online dealers. LFI cannot guarantee that all items included in a shipment will be transferred to the customer if they are not compliant with applicable laws or regulations. Any disputes regarding the firearm or NFA item must be resolved directly with the third-party/online dealers prior to transfer. Neither LFI nor its staff shall be held liable for any delays, errors, or omissions that occur during the transfer process, regardless of the cause, including those caused by the customer, third-party/online dealers, or LFI staff. LFI reserves the right to stop, deny, or cancel any firearm or NFA transfer at any time, for any reason without explanation or notice.

What to Expect
- LFI will call you when your firearm or NFA item has been processed and is ready for paperwork. This process will take a minimum of 48 hours.

- Delivery to our facility does not guarantee same-day processing.
- LFI will not send email or text messages and is not responsible for failed contact attempts.
- Only the person whose name appears on the order will be allowed to take possession of the firearm or NFA item.

- If the background check or NFA paperwork is denied or disapproved, the item will be sent back to the original seller at the customer’s expense. Refunds are subject to the original seller’s return policy.
- Due to Colorado Law C.R.S 18-12-115(1), LFI is required to hold all firearms for a minimum of 72 hours. This waiting period begins when the background check is submitted to CBI and may take longer if LFI has not received an approval.
- All firearms must be picked up within 30 days of delivery to avoid storage fees being charged.
COLORADO STATE LAWS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT
LFI strictly complies with all applicable state regulations. Please review the following requirements to ensure a smooth transfer:
- C.R.S. 18-12-302(1): It is illegal to sell or transfer any magazine holding more than 15 rounds for a rimfire or centerfire firearm. For a shotgun, any magazine tube that holds more than 28 inches of shells or detachable magazines that holds more than 8 rounds of shotshells.
- Magazines shipped by the seller that do not comply with the above law will be removed and disposed of. LFI will not provide financial compensation or replacements.
- C.R.S 18-12-115(1): LFI is required to hold all firearms for a minimum of 72 hours. This waiting period begins when the background check is submitted to CBI and may take longer if LFI has not received an approval yet.
- The only exception is for firearms where LFI does not submit a background check to CBI, such as NFA purchases and law enforcement purchase with an LFI approved LE letter.
- C.R.S. 18-12-112.5(1)(a.5): It is illegal to sell any firearm to someone under the age of 21.
- C.R.S. 18-12-402: The purchaser/recipient of any firearm is required by law to provide the dealer with the purchaser’s/recipient’s occupation.

LFI cannot guarantee that all items included will be transferred to the purchaser if they are not compliant with applicable laws or regulations. Background Check Fee: $15
Firearm Transfer Fee: $40 per firearm
A maximum limit of five firearms may be transferred at a time. Transfers involving more than five firearms require a scheduled appointment. Call 970-578-0717 to schedule as service is subject to staff and scheduling availability.
Case Fee: $20 per firearm without a case
Circumstances pertaining to Court-Ordered or Estate firearm transfers; additional fees apply. Call 970-578-0717 to schedule as service is subject to staff and scheduling availability.
Storage Fee after 30-days: $20 per month/per item
What to Expect
- Both parties must be present in-store with current government issued photo identification. All firearms must be in a case (or the original box) and unloaded.

- Third-Party seller will complete transfer documentation verifying lawful ownership and eligibility for transfer under Colorado law. Buyer will complete a background check (ATF Form 4473).

- If the prospective buyer of the firearm(s) is denied, or if their approved background check expires after 30 days, the seller will be required to complete and pay for a background check, obtain approval, and wait the state-mandated 72 hours to regain possession of the firearm(s).
- Both the buyer and seller are responsible for ensuring their voicemail box is properly set up and not full. LFI will not send email or text messages and is not responsible for failed contact attempts.

Shipping/Outbound Transfer

I agree to use LFI Shooting Sports as the packaging agent and understand that UPS will be the shipping carrier. I understand that I am shipping at my own risk and I agree not to hold LFI Shooting Sports, or any of its employees, liable for any damage, loss, or theft of the shipment. I understand that once the package is picked up by UPS, LFI no longer has control of the package and is not responsible for anything regarding the shipment, to include receiving FFL fees. I recognize that all claims must be filed through UPS. I understand the normal processing time for shipments is four days, depending on the cooperation level of the receiving FFL.
I understand that I will be charged a $25 Outbound Transfer fee, per package, in addition to shipping fees, and all fees are non-refundable. I acknowledge that all handguns will ship UPS 2nd day air, and all other firearms will be shipped UPS Ground, unless I request expedited shipping.

All firearms must be cased (hard or soft) for protection. LFI recommends insuring packages for their total value.
What to Expect
- Customer must be present in-store to ship their own firearm(s) or purchase a firearm from LFI to ship. All firearms must be in a hard or soft case and unloaded.
